Old fashioned companionship and a genuine interest in others is a human quality that is somewhat fading fast in today's fast paced society. This is something that we at Kind-Soul Services feel passionately about holding onto. Which is why we focus predominately on providing quality interactions with our clients.

Loneliness can often be overlooked for many different reasons, the same can happen within the care sector. There is a high demand for carers at present, who are so greatly needed for clients with medium to high care needs. leaving them with vey little time to engage in in-depth conversation & wellbeing.

We feel that most companionship options available out there are often lumped in together with domiciliary care or home help. Residential care homes may often be understaffed, we have found hospitals to suffer from the same problem. We recognise that hard working staff only have one pair of hands therefore their individual attention is limited or sadly non existent in some cases.

Companionship frequency often depends on how much interaction or engagement a client desires or needs. A fine balance is required in our opinion. Too much interaction can also be as problematic as not enough. This is why an initial consultation or assessment is beneficial for all.

Why are KindSoul Services a useful addition to domiciliary care, charities or in general?

There are many great charities out there, however volunteers are stretched & may not be available on a regular basis.

Other issues we have come across are that family members may be unavailable, for many reasons - e.g

Residing in a totally different area/abroad
Weighed down with commitments & can only give minimum time to their loved one.
Suffering with their own illness or disability.
Estranged from their relative(s).

In regards to the client

Many personal friends & acquaintances have passed away.
Loss of physical abilities, yet the mind is fully in tact.

The right companion can help elevate a senior or elderly person's mood if on the low side - encourage a more cheerful demeanor, find satisfaction & fulfilment in activities that may have been lost, revive a new found zest for life.
The family in the long run will have peace of mind knowing that their relative is content & having their social needs met.

Even though it is widely recognised that seniors more often than not require the most companionship, it is not always the case. People from all walks of life will suffer loneliness from time to time. It is quite true that in todays modern world there are all sorts of ways to conquer loneliness, yet there is nothing as natural or as truly fulfilling as good old basic one to one platonic interaction. Our adult companionship packages are catered to supporting individuals in public venues or community events.
